Paul Leland Aloha Kaaukai, 43, of Papaikou died May 5 at Onomea Bay. Born in Hilo, he was a drilling operator for Delima’s Dilling. Friends may call from 8-10 a.m. Saturday at the Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow at the Dodo Mortuary Crematory. Casual attire, leis are welcome. A luncheon will be held at 12 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Puueopaku. Survived by fiancee, Naomi Subica of Papaikou; sons, Micah Paul Kaikena Kaaukai and Ezekiel-Paul Kapono Kaaukai, both of Papaikou; daughter, Makayla Alohalani Kaaukai of Papaikou; mother, Lenora Kaaukai of Papaikou; brother, Louis (Evelyn) Kaaukai III of Papaikou; sisters, Lisa (Jim Karoly) Kaaukai-Cole of Virginia, Michelle (Brian) Kaaukai-Perreira of Pepeekeo and Melanie Kaaukai of Mountain View; numerous nieces, nephews and grandnephews. John “Boy” L.T. Lee, 69, of Hilo died May 7 at home. Born in Olaa, he was a retired carpenter with Yamada and Sons, a self-employed contractor/carpenter and was a member of the Glad Tidings Church of Hilo and a retired member of the Hawaii Carpenters Union. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Friday at the Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 5 p.m. to be followed by cremation. Casual attire; no flowers. Ellen “Celine” Bestamente Sanoria, 81, of Pahoa died April 27 at Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Honaunau, she was a retired housekeeper for Hilo Lagoon Hotel, a flower harvester for Orchids of Hawaii and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pahoa, the Kupuna Alu Like Program of Pahoa and Pahoa Senior Citizens. Friends may call from 8-10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by daughters, Cherly Ann Takano of Honolulu, Darlene (Ralph) Hirano of Pahoa and Betty (Leroy) Dikito of Kapalana; son, Lawrence (Sandy) Sanoria of Volcano; son-in-law, Dennis Kapuras of Pahoa; brother, Victor Bestamente of Pahoa; sister, Sarah (Perfecto) Aniban of Pahoa, sister-in-law, Rosita Palisbo of Hilo; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Calsey Brian Nobuyuki Santos, 31, of Kaumana died May 1 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a labor supervisor and “John Harner’s right-hand man” at Harner Wall Systems. Survived by son, Aidan Santos of Oahu; mother, Charlene Awa (Nathan) Cockett III of Kaumana; father, Christopher Bernard Santos of Hilo; brother, Christopher B.N.
